The Community and Region
Nestled in a crook of the Erie Canal, Medina is a picturesque Western New York farming community. It is located midway between Rochester and Buffalo, New York near the South shore of Lake Ontario. Approximately 11,700 people live in Medina, with about 52% residing within the village itself.
The Medina Central School District
Medina Central School District is comprised of three schools: Oak Orchard Elementary, Clifford H. Wise Intermediate/Middle School, and Medina High School. The home of the Mustangs, the district encompasses the Village of Medina and the Towns of Ridgeway and Shelby, serving a total student population of over 1620 children throughout a 100-square mile area.
Medina High school hosts over 600 students, while Clifford H. Wise Intermediate/ Middle School instructs over 500, and Oak Orchard Elementary greets over 500 students daily.
