About Me:
I have been teaching in Medina for over ten years. I have taught third grade, fifth grade, and my current and favorite grade: fourth. I try my best to make my classroom a comfortable and safe place to learn. I believe it is important to value every child for his or her unique abilities. I also believe it is important to challenge my students, so they can reach thier full potential.
Mr. Gerdes and I teach Math together. I teach both of our classes Science and he teaches both of our classes Social Studies. I also teach Reading, Spelling, and Writing (ELA).
I grew up in Amherst, NY. I got my Bachelor of Science degree from the State University College at Buffalo and my Master of Science degree at the State University College at Brockport.
I taught Kindergarten and Second Grade in North Tonawanda before moving to Medina in 1989. I took a leave from teaching to raise my family on a small farm in Ridgeway. I was then fortunate to be hired by Medina in 2006.
I enjoy learning new things and spend my free time reading, hiking, gardening, cooking and traveling.
