About Me: 

Hello. I’m Mr. Benson and I love teaching math at Medina High School.  I have taught math at every level grades 7-12, plus college level course at GCC and SUNY Brockport. 

My goal is that every single one of my students feels successful in math class.  I say this because I teach the courses that I hated the most when I was in high school.  Math didn’t make much sense to me back then. In college, I enjoyed the College Algebra and Business Finance courses.  I started tutoring other students and realized that I might like to be a math teacher.  The rest is history. I am interested in the role that mathematical thinking plays in the technological society we live in today.

Outside of school, I like to spend time reading “how-to” books, canoeing, wood working, being outside, spending time with my family and helping others.

I look forward to watching my students learn from their mistakes and grow in confidence as they build math skills for the future.
