    About Me:

Hello, my name is Mrs. O'Toole. I was born & raised in Niagara Falls, NY.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in Legal Studies/Political Science, from the University of Buffalo and my Masters Degree in Library Science. I began my career as a public librarian in the Buffalo & Erie County Library System. In this capacity, I had the opportunity to work in various departments and quickly realized I had a passion for teaching Information Literacy skills and for working with the young adult population. I decided to go back to the University at Buffalo to obtain my School Library Media Specialist certification. From there, I was employed by the Niagara Falls CSD as the Gaskill Middle School librarian for 2 1/2 years, before being hired at Medina High School as the full-time librarian in 2009.

During this time I have assisted grades 8-12 students and teachers with their research and Information Literacy needs. I have also taught a library skills class at various times. I have been a class advisor, book club monitor, tech teacher, detention monitor, and a member of many district committees (Technology, Scholarship, Professional Development, Building). I decided to continue my career in Medina, even with a long commute, because I couldn't ask for a better position & sense of community I get from MHS.

My husband and I have been married since 2010 and we have a daughter.  We enjoy the outdoors, traveling, reading, family time, and more.
