Academic Intervention Services (AIS) are services that are provided to help students meet learning expectations in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
At each building, AIS services are provided both within the classroom and beyond the classroom, depending on the individual needs of students. Intensity of services may also vary. We utilize a variety of measures to determine the areas of instruction that require targeted focus and set goals accordingly. Progress towards the achievement of individual goals is routinely tracked and monitored to maximize student growth. These services include two components:
- Additional instruction that supplements the general curriculum (regular classroom instruction)
- Student support services needed to address barriers to improved academic performance
Our Academic Intervention Plan is reviewed annually and revised as needed and according to guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Education. Please see the current plan below.
