Student Conduct Reminders and Changes:
We have noticed an uptick in the public displays of affection and would appreciate a conversation with your child about no physical contact with boyfriends and girlfriends. We do not allow any public display of affection and any persistent behavior will be viewed as sexual harassment and acted on accordingly.
Hover boards and skateboards
Starting immediately, hover boards and skateboards are not allowed on school property. These items are considered dangerous, and in order to protect our students, we are prohibiting them from being used or brought onto school property.
Music should be listened to using earbuds or headphones. Students should not play music using external speakers. This is necessary in order to respect all students’ privacy and values. This applies to busses and while students are on school property.
It is important to the safety and wellbeing of our students to have procedures that maintain an orderly and productive learning environment. Thank you for support.
Many of our students are watching a new Netflix series called "13 Reasons Why". This series is about teen suicide. It is very graphic, suggestive and sensationalizes the suicide of a teenage girl. Research shows that the risk of suicide increases among vulnerable persons when they are exposed to such content. Click here for a Talking Tips sheet to help you discuss the series with your child. Please reach out to the school counseling staff for additional support. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with thoughts of suicide please call the National Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273- TALK (8255) or text "START" to 741741.
